Tagged: dating hijinks.

Men of a certain age are remarkably adept at giving. Particularly when they cannot give of themselves. So what am I supposed to do with the various items now in my life, and left behind by the men who are not?

For auction:

One mountain bike in relative working order and of questionable monetary value given to me by the Single Daddy upon what I am assuming was a pretext to come over to my house. Mountain bike no longer needed given that I just ran into him this morning at the local coffee house and when queried as to why HE NEVER CALLED ME, responded that he was, in fact, seeing someone else and it was only afterwards (and we all know to what I am referring here) that he realized how much he actually liked that OTHER person. Now looking to trade it in for another means of transportation.

One Starbucks traveling mug–no longer with steaming hot coffee–handed to me by The Gentleman Blogger with whom I dated briefly as I was exiting his apartment and whose apartment I never entered again. Mug no longer necessary as I am not making the rounds much these days and do not need one more painful reminder of how I keep finishing in Second Place. Will actually pay you to take this off my hands.

One pair of fashionable men's sunglasses lightly tinted, given to me by The Cubanito as a special reminder of our first (and last) meeting. Sunglasses are not so dark that one looks like a total asshole when wearing them at outdoor weddings and funerals but I cannot vouch for the same if you venture to wear them indoors*. They also provide a nice, rosy hue to any environs.

Other items on the auction block: One Braveheart DVD, two CDs of pirate shanties and one very warm, heather hoody bearing the unrecognizable emblem of an obscure college.

I will consider all offers and any other advice on how best to dispose of these items.
