It's so sad. Summer is over. It's cold outside and I'm just sitting back waiting for my entire Labor Day weekend to be washed out by the remnants of Hurricane Ernesto. No more midnight walks on the waterfront. No more sidewalk cafes. No more…
Gone are the days of reckless abandon.
But so too gone are the hideous summer fashions.
Like most summer fashion mistakes, this is usually worn by the wrong women. (Then again, is there a right woman for tube tops?)
The Miniskirt
There really is only about 2% of the population that can pull this off. Let's just be realistic, nothing's sexy about wobbly cellulite.
Visible Bra Strap
Not sexy. Not cool. I don't care if your straps are hot pink with little flowery thingys. This is up there with the g-string showing from the top of the pants.
I'm looking forward to the days of boots and light jackets. Long sleeve shirts and knee-length skirts. Men in pants, not shorts (gasp!) And, because I refuse to tan in the summer, I'm looking forward to all you skin-cancer candidates losing your tans so I look less like Casper in contrast to you on the subway.

Lucky you, it was the first day of Spring here where I am, yesterday…and I’ve got sooooooo much to look forward to, like seeing many rolls of ‘overhang’ on streets when those low riding hipsters come out of the closet.

yes there is some allure of fall fashion in the city, it’s just quite small. since shorts are my year round uniform, i’m not feeling your pain too much meme, except when i look at that first photo, yikes. i caught a glimpse of g-string last night at the local wine bar, and i must say it’s quite titilating, for me at least. i will offer to let you come on down here, where it’s still quite hot, and you can get me turned off to the g-string/thong glipse by repeated views of them…
i’m heading to telluride for the next three weeks, so bathing suits, thongs, and visible bra straps will give way to fleece, shorts, and hiking boots. i love the mountaingirl attire for some reason, even though it covers more.
